The Chairman of the National Democratic congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has taken his Thank You Tour to the Effutu Constituency in the Central Region.

Speaking to party faithful and traditional authorities on February 12, he said the purpose of his visit is to appreciate their support for the party in the 2024 elections.

He bemoaned that fact that the party did not win the parliamentary seat for the area.

“I am here to show gratitude to you. This is in spite of the fact that our party did not win the parliamentary seat for this area. We do not believe that when it comes to appreciation, we should thank only those who voted for us. So, thank you for supporting the NDC,” Mr Nketia said.

He urged the party’s supporters in the constituency not to lose hope.

“We can see the sacrifices you made. As happens with all sacrifices, the benefits are reaped later. So, don’t worry,” he assured.

According to him, “I chose Winneba to start this tour in the Central Region because this is where we launched our manifesto. And that was after we had come to conduct your needs assessment. We know that many of you in this constituency belong to the NDC. What you have to do to enable us win the seat in the next election, is unity. If you don’t unite, the NPP will always wrestle the seat from us.”

He added that the visit is also to find out how government can address any challenges confronting them.

“Another reason why I am here is to find out from you, how we have fared as a government in respect of the promises we made in our manifesto in order to ensure that the relevant authorities will address them, Mr Nketia said.

He also assured that the 24-hour market requested by the chiefs will be put in place in no time.
