The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has urged members of the party to remember President John Mahama in their prayers.

He said having secured a clear mandate from the people of Ghana in the 2024 elections, what remains is to fulfill the lofty promises made to Ghanaians.

Mr Nketia said this during his visit to the Gomoa Central Constituency of the Central Region on February 13.

“It is obvious that you took the right decision. Every Ghanaian is now attesting to the fact that Ghana has a good government. Let’s pray that God grants President Mahama the knowhow to reset the country. All we have to do now is the work that will transform this country,” he said.

He commended all the branch executives for the hard work in securing the victory.

“We are here to thank you for voting for the NDC in the 2024 elections. The Bible tells us that even God requires appreciation and that is why we are here,” he noted.

Mr Nketia told the gathering of party faithful and traditional authorities during his ‘Thank You Tour’ that, “We asked for your mandate, and you gave it to us because you believed in our message that it is only John Mahama who can deliver this country from its challenges. You showed your love by voting massively for President Mahama. You did not vote for our parliamentary candidate, but we are still grateful.”

He acknowledged all demands made by the chiefs and assured of the necessary actions.

“I have taken note of all the demands your chiefs have made. We will take it up and ensure that they are all addressed,” the NDC National Chairman stressed.

He urged branch executives of the party who have not been appointed to any positions yet, not to be perturbed.

“It is understandable that some of you the branch executives may be disappointed that you have not received any personal benefit from our victory. Let’s support those who have been appointed to succeed so that Ghanaians will keep us in power. That way, everyone will have his or her turn.

The fact is that the positions available are less than the number of people qualified, so definitely some will be left out for now,” Mr Nketia noted.

He stressed that this approach is in the best interest of Ghanaians.

“Having appointed few ministers, enough money will be available to provide social amenities for the populace to improve our living conditions. As a result, they will keep us in power, So, I plead for patience from all of you,” he stated
