The Board of Directors of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has resolved not to receive any sitting allowances for the remainder of the 2025/26 cocoa season as part of efforts to support ongoing reforms within the cocoa sector.
In a public notice, COCOBOD said the decision is aimed at reinforcing measures to strengthen the long-term sustainability of Ghana’s cocoa industry.
According to the statement, the move reflects the Board’s commitment to prudent financial management, shared sacrifice and responsible leadership at a time when the sector is undergoing critical reforms to address recent challenges and restore confidence across the cocoa value chain.
The Board further reiterated its dedication to enhancing operational efficiency, promoting accountability and safeguarding the livelihoods of cocoa farmers.
COCOBOD noted that it will continue to collaborate with government and other stakeholders to secure a resilient and sustainable future for Ghana’s cocoa industry.
