Empowering girls to excel in education and secure a successful future has become increasingly important in today’s technological era.

Parents, teachers, and stakeholders in education continue to emphasize the need for guidance and mentorship to prepare young girls for life beyond the classroom.

In line with this, the Women Commissioner of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) for the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions embarked on a career guidance and empowerment summit, targeting senior high school girls in the Ahafo Region.

At the Serwaa Kesse Girls’ Senior High School in Duayaw Nkwanta in the Tano North Municipality of the Ahafo Region, the summit aimed at inspiring and equipping the students with the right mindset and information to make informed career choices and confidently prepare for life after school.

A resource person, Madam Diana Twumwaa, encouraged the students to take their education seriously and work diligently toward securing their future while seeking clarity and purpose when choosing their career paths.

The Headmistress of Serwaa Kesse Girls’ SHS, Mrs. Margaret Anane Adjei, emphasized the importance of holistic education.

She noted that, empowering the girl child at this critical stage is essential in guiding them toward meaningful and fulfilling careers.

The NASPA Women Commissioner, Miss Jennifer Kyeraa Okyere, explained that, mentoring young girls and helping them identify their strengths is key to shaping their future.

She said the summit was designed to empower the students to make them confident and have informed career decisions.

A student, Eva Asante who participated in the summit shared how the program had positively impacted on her and broadened her career perspectives.
