The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) says one of its members that got severely injured in the recent missile attack on the Headquarters of the Ghanaian Battalion serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has undergone a successful surgery.

The said officer, according to the GAF, is currently responding to treatment. A statement issued by the Acting Director General of Public Relations for the GAF, Veronica Adzo Arhin, (Captain, Ghana Navy) on Sunday, March 8, 2026, also indicated that three other soldiers who sustained minor injures in the attack “are currently in stable condition.”

The statement also disclosed that “fourteen officers whose accommodation were completely burnt down have since been re-kitted, re-accommodated and provided some support.”

Meanwhile, the Battalion, the Ghana Armed Forces say, is still “in high spirits and morale remains high.”

The GAF expressed appreciation to the general public for the solidarity shown them following the attack.
