The Vice President, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has urged officials of the Ministry of Roads and Highways to recognise the contributions of all stakeholders in the delivery of road infrastructure across the country.
Speaking during a visit to the Ministry on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in Accra, the Vice President emphasized that the progress being made in the sector is the result of the collective efforts of many individuals, including those who may not always be present during official engagements.
“I believe that there are many others who are not in this room, but whose contributions are equally important. Without their input, we would not be counting the successes we are enumerating today,” she said.

She urged officials to remain mindful of the role each person plays in achieving the Ministry’s goals.
“Everybody’s contribution matters. Everybody brings something to the table, and together we must work toward the success of the President we have all supported,” she noted.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stressed that the success of government’s infrastructure agenda would depend largely on the quality of work and dedication demonstrated by public officials.
She also acknowledged growing public concern about the condition of roads and the pace at which road projects are being completed.
“I hear the Ministry on the anxiety of the public regarding the kind of roads they expect and the speed with which they believe these roads should be fixed,” she said.

According to the Vice President, many public officials who frequently travel across the country understand the frustrations faced by citizens, particularly those living along dusty or poorly maintained roads.
“Those of us whose work takes us around the country know what it is like to live on roads where there is dust all day, every day,” she added.
Her visit to the Ministry formed part of efforts to engage sector agencies, review ongoing initiatives and encourage officials to intensify their work toward improving road infrastructure across the country.
