The Management of Metro Mass Transit Limited has accused the Akufo-Addo government of a “create, loot and share” agenda in the sale of portions of the Opera Square Bus Terminal in Accra to a private developer.
The Deputy Managing Director of Metro Mass Transit, Haroun Apaw-Wiredu, told journalists on March 12 that his outfit will not tolerate any further unauthorized development in the area.
This comes after traders in the terminal complained about being denied spaces to trade. Some of these traders say they have been trading at the square for decades.
“How come and why should we sit down for a private developer just for his selfish and economic gains

He added that, “We must all fight this level of blazing create, loot, and share…broad day capturing, and broad day attempts to milk the system at the expense of our innocent ordinary Ghanaians. As you have observed, we have aged amongst us. Some have been here, dating back to Omni-Bus Service Authority (OSA) time.”
“…this private developer got his way through during the previous government administration. We are saying, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and my boss, lawyer Kali Caesar, being the MD of Metro Man Transit Limited, we will not sit down. We will not sit unconcerned to allow this to happen.
We will use every legitimate avenue at our disposal, and by the last strength, and by the last straw of blood running through our veins, to make sure that we will positively and legally defend, protect, and resist this…,” he assured.
