Former Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamaud Bawumia and his wife, Samira, have wished all Ghanaians, especially Muslims, a blessed occasion of Eid ul Fitr.

Dr Bawumia said that May the Almighty Allah accept the supplications, grant Ghanaians the blessings of Ramadan

In a post on his Facebook page, he said, “On the blessed occasion of Eid ul Fitr, Samira Bawumia and I extend our warmest congratulations to fellow Muslims for a successful Ramadan.

“May the Almighty Allah accept our supplications, grant us the blessings of Ramadan and extend His favours upon our loved ones and our dear nation.”

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has assured the public of robust security arrangements to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Eid al-Fitr celebration across the Accra Region.

In a press release issued by the Accra Regional Police Command on March 19, 2026, the police said adequate measures have been put in place to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the festivities.
According to the Command, security personnel have been deployed to key locations including mosques, Eid prayer grounds, major roads, markets, and transport terminals to maintain order and protect the public.
The police also announced the deployment of special traffic management teams to regulate vehicular movement and ease congestion during the celebrations. Patrol teams are expected to intensify visibility policing within communities to deter crime and respond swiftly to emergencies.
The Command further urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security personnel by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
Motorists and pedestrians have also been advised to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to ensure safety.
The police extended their well wishes to Muslims and the general public, expressing hope for a peaceful and joyous Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
