The Black Stars lost their fourth successive game on Monday following a narrow 2-1 defeat to Germany.

The game, played at the MHPArena, was the second preparatory game by the team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Germans, playing in front of their fans in Stuttgart, pinned the Stars in their half in the first 15 minutes of the game.

A goal scored from the pressing attack by the former world champions was ruled out offside much to the relief of the Ghanaians.

Thinking they had held their own in 45 minutes against the four-time world champions, the Black Stars had to concede a penalty after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) was contacted in additional minutes in the first half.

The CAR clearly showed a handball situation against Wolfsburg defender Jonas Adjetey.

Arsenal marksman Kai Havertz converted from the spot to give Die Mannachaft the first goal in injury time.

The second half began the same way the first ended as the Germans continued to have an upper hand in terms of possession.

With Germany-based Otto Addo left with little options in changing the face of the game, he threw in Leicester City’s Abdul-Fatawu Issahaku.

The left-footed attacking midfielder was an instant hit as he connected to a pull-out cross from Union Berlin’s Derrick Arthur Köhn to clinch the equaliser.

With the game heading to a draw, Julian Nagelsmann threw in his all to win the match.

Much to his relief, the German attack beat the offside trap set by the Ghanaian defence with substitute Deniz Undav finishing off a one-two play with fellow substitute Leroy Sane.

It was a winner that came on time, ending the game 2-1 in favour of the Europeans.
