Ghanaian Dancehall Star, Shatta Wale, has stunned fans with an unexpected response following sharp criticism from highlife icon Gyedu-Blay Ambolley over his controversial title.
Ambolley’s remarks, which questioned Shatta Wale’s claim to kingship in a genre rooted in Jamaica, quickly ignited heated debate across the entertainment space.
Many anticipated a fierce clapback from the outspoken dancehall star, but what came instead was a message filled with restraint, admiration, and peace.
Taking to Facebook on April 2, 2026, Shatta Wale addressed the situation head-on, but rather than escalate tensions, he called for calm among his loyal fanbase. He issued a firm directive: no insults, no attacks, and absolutely no disrespect toward the veteran musician.
“Please, nobody should attack him, no disrespect please,” he wrote, immediately setting the tone for a response that defied expectations and shifted the narrative from conflict to respect.

The award-winning artiste went further, revealing a deep-rooted admiration for Ambolley that dates back to his childhood.
“I loved this man from infancy and I can’t and will never disrespect his views,” he stated, making it clear that, despite their differences, reverence for legends remains non-negotiable.
“Maybe we have to learn more in the hard way,” he added.
The multi-award-winning musician closed his message with a note of unity , love and respect: “Thank you my legend; ano bore at all… It’s all love.”
