Seven persons have died following a late-night accident at Nkawkaw ‘Atta Ne Atta’ on the Nkawkaw- Atibie stretch in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The crash occurred around 10:20 pm on Monday, April 27, involving a Hyundai Grace minibus with car number GR 5660-18 traveling from Kotoso Market toward Nkawkaw.

Preliminary investigations by the Ghana National Fire Service indicate that the driver lost control due to brake failure, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and plunge into a nearby valley.

Residents, Fire Service and Police personnel responded promptly, rescuing victims from the wreckage.

The injured were taken to the Holy Family Hospital, Nkawkaw for treatment and bodies deposited at the mortuary as well

Deputy Regional Public Relations Officer, DOIII Aaron Adu Ohemeng, confirmed that six people died, six females and one male.
