President John Dramani Mahama is set to participate in the maiden Libreville International Forum for Innovation and Development in Gabon.
He arrived in the Gabon capital on Sunday, May 3, 2026. The high-level event that brings together Heads of State, government officials, global investors, and technology experts is the first of its kind.
In a post made by the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, on his Facebook page on Sunday, May 3, he noted that the event seeks to present the Central African country as a destination for global investment.
The forum, being held under the patronage of the Gabon President, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, is on the theme “Political Stability, Business Climate, and Artificial Intelligence: Catalysts for Growth.”
“The forum seeks to position Gabon as a regional innovation hub and key destination for international investment,” portions of the post stated.
The Forum will be held at the newly constructed Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre, which is set for inauguration during the event, and will also serve as a future centre for international dialogue.
“The forum will culminate in the “Libreville Declaration,” which will showcase the strategic political leaders’ commitments to enhancing governance, transparency, and digital integration across the continent,” the post added.
President Mahama’s participation in the Forum will be key as he “remains a strong advocate for fostering partnerships that bridge the gap between government policy and private-sector growth to ensure inclusive development.”
