The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has given a firm assurance that the Savannah Region is one of government’s priority areas for development.
Addressing the chiefs and people of the Salaga South Constituency on May 14, Asiedu Nketiah appealed to traditional leaders and party supporters in the Savannah Region to have faith in the government to deliver on its promises.
T he NDC’s National Chairman, was at Salaga as part of his nationwide ‘Thank You Tour’, aimed at appreciating chiefs, party supporters, and communities for their support during the 2024 general elections.
Speaking at the Banbange Ndefoso Palace in Kpembe, he emphasized that the Savannah Region will receive its share of national development.
“What is important now is for us is to secure our position in Government. When that is achieved all of you will be given what you deserve,” he assured.
On party support, Mr Asiedu Nketiah appealed to party supporters who feel left out in appointment to public offices to exercise patience as more opportunities will be made available.
“I have heard statements to the effect that some of you are not happy with the government because you have not benefitted from any appointment. All I ask is patience.
It is only an NDC government that can give you what you want. As NDC members, there is no way a government led by Dr Bawumia will fulfill your needs, so keep supporting the party and all will be well,” Mr Nketiah urged.
The Paramount Chief of Kpembe Traditional Area, Kpembewura Banbange Ndefoso IV, appealed to Mr Nketiah to ensure the completion of a 60-bed capacity Salaga Hospital which has been abandoned for over four years.

“Our most pressing need is our hospital. I know the District Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament will brief you more on our needs,” he stated.
Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is on a two-day tour of the Savannah Region and is expected to wrap up the visit on Friday May 15.
