Residents of Anyinamso No. 1 in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region are living in fear following the demise of an unidentified woman believed to be about 27 years old in a bush.
The deceased was discovered hanging from a rope tied to a tree in a thick bush. Residents believe the body had remained at the location for about three days before it was found.
Following the discovery, the traditional authorities (Nananom), officials from the Environmental Health Department, and personnel from the Mpasatia Police Command supervised the burial of the body in line with local health and traditional protocols.
Police have since launched investigations to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding her death.
The incident has heightened anxiety in the community, with many residents calling for a thorough investigation into the mysterious death.
The traditional authorities have appealed to the public, especially families whose daughters have been missing over the past three days, to report to the palace for possible identification of the deceased. Relatives will be directed to the burial site to assist with the identification process.
The Mpasatia Police Command has also appealed to anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist investigators as efforts continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
