Residents of Sefwi Sayerano in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region have blocked the main highway passing through the community following a fatal shooting incident allegedly involving police officers.
The protest comes after police allegedly opened fire during an operation, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to two others.
Tension remains high in the community, with residents reportedly preventing security personnel from entering the area.
The highway linking the community to the Bia West District has been blocked, making it impossible for vehicles to pass.
The bodies of the two deceased persons are still lying on the streets as residents await action from the relevant authorities.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
