Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced a 24-hour planned shutdown of the Dodowa Booster Station to undertake scheduled maintenance works aimed at improving the efficiency, reliability and sustainability of water supply to parts of the Greater Accra Region.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 7, GWL said the maintenance exercise will begin on Thursday, July 9, 2026, and will last for 24 hours.
The company explained that the temporary shutdown will enable its engineering team to carry out essential maintenance works designed to enhance the operational performance of the booster station.
As a result, customers served by the Dodowa Booster Station are expected to experience temporary interruptions in water supply or reduced water pressure throughout the maintenance period.
Communities expected to be affected include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa, as well as adjoining areas supplied by the station.
Ghana Water has advised residents in the affected communities to store enough water ahead of the planned shutdown and use available supplies sparingly during the maintenance period.
The company assured customers that its engineers will work diligently to complete the exercise within the scheduled timeframe and restore normal water supply immediately after the maintenance works are completed.
GWL expressed regret over the inconvenience the temporary interruption may cause and appealed to customers for their patience, understanding and cooperation as it undertakes the maintenance to improve the reliability and quality of water service delivery.
