Two police posts in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region have been destroyed by unidentified persons following the recent police shooting incident at Sefwi Sayerano that claimed three lives.

The affected facilities are the Benchema Barrier Police Post and the Asempanaye Police Post. The destruction is believed to have occurred amid heightened tensions in the aftermath of the fatal shooting.

The Juaboso District Chief Executive, Alexander Adu Quist, visited the bereaved families and injured victims to express his condolences and sympathies. He assured them of the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the affected families during this difficult period.

Mr. Adu Quist also announced that the damaged police posts at Benchema Barrier and Asempanaye would be reconstructed to restore security services in the affected communities.

The Assembly Member for the Sefwi Sayerano Electoral Area, Samuel Agyekum, called on the government to provide compensation for the bereaved families and the injured victims.

Meanwhile, the Chief Imam of Sayerano, Adama Sadaht, appealed to the authorities to ensure justice for the victims and their families. He urged all stakeholders to remain calm and allow investigations into the incident to take their course.

The police shooting at Sefwi Sayerano, which occurred on July 7, claimed three lives and left several others injured. The Ghana Police Service has since interdicted eight officers as investigations into the incident continue.
