The Black Maidens have booked their ticket to this year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Morocco.
Ghana secured qualification on penalties at the Accra Sports Stadium after a 1-1 draw against Senegal in the second leg.
The first leg had also finished 1-1 in Dakar, leaving the two West African sides to be separated by penalties.
The Senegalese side had drawn first blood after just 10 minutes, making their intentions clear of disrupting any planned party by the opponents.
However, coach Joe Nana Adarkwa had other ideas as captain Seidatu Wahab levelled just before the break.
There was nothing to separate the two sides as the match ended 2-2 on aggregate, sending the match straight to penalties.
The Maidens emerged victorious 7-6 to clinch one of four tickets to the mundial, which starts on Saturday, October 17 to Saturday, November 7.
