President John Dramani Mahama has approved a number of appointments and reassignments as part of the reorganisation of the National Security Council Secretariat.
The changes were announced by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications in a statement on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
The reassignment affect key operational, intelligence, logistics and security positions within the Secretariat.
Under the new arrangements, Major (Rtd.) General William Ayamdo, a former Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed Deputy National Security Coordinator (Operations).
Yaw Donkor, a former National Security Coordinator, has also been appointed Director of Intelligence and Research at the Office of the National Security Adviser.
Other appointments include:
- Mr. Adamu Saaka – Director of Logistics and Transport.
- Ms. Faustina Effah-Boadi – Officer in Charge of the Human Security Department.
- DCOP (Rtd.) Peter Nkrumah – Officer in Charge of the Special Investigations Unit.
Meanwhile, ACP Alhassan Osman has been reassigned to the Ghana Police Service for further deployment.
The Presidency said the appointments and reassignments take immediate effect.
