Three people have died and two others sustained injuries in a fatal road crash on the Kyebi–Asikam road in the Eastern Region.
The accident, which occurred on Monday, August 10, involved a Toyota RAV4 with registration number CR 657-21 and a Kia Picanto, registered GC 2066-19.
A six-member crew from the Kyebi Fire Station arrived at the scene at about 3:30 p.m. and found the RAV4 severely damaged at the front, while the Kia Picanto had overturned into a pit.

Firefighters, assisted by civilians, rescued the injured victims and transported them to the Kibi Government Hospital. Two males sustained injuries, while three occupants of the Kia Picanto were pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the RAV4 lost control, veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the Kia Picanto.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the crash.
