Asante Kotoko and Debibi United have become the first clubs to breach the regulations of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the 2026/27 season.

The two clubs played a 2-2 draw at the Berekum Golden City Park on Matchday 1 of the season.

As per regulations, highlights of the match were expected to be released within 48 hours.

This was not done, however, by either club.

According to the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA, the action is a breach of Article 38(8)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations 2025.

“It is alleged that both clubs failed to publish video highlights of the match within forty-eight (48) hours after the game.”

They have been given up to Friday, September 11 to respond to the charges, failure of which they will suffer sanctions.

While Asante Kotoko welcome Heart of Lions for their first home game on Sunday, Debibi United will travel away for the first time in their debut season to play Swedru All Blacks.
