A News Anchor and presenter on Media General’s Onua TV/FM platforms, Abena Nyamesem, has been honoured at the 10th Anniversary edition of the Forty Under Forty Ghana Awards, in recognition of her contribution to the media industry.
The awards ceremony, held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, brought together professionals and accomplished individuals from various sectors who have distinguished themselves through their work and impact.
Speaking after receiving the award, Abena Nyamesem expressed gratitude to the organisers for the recognition and to her bosses at Media General for their support and opportunities.
She noted that choosing to read news in Twi was once met with questions from some friends who wondered why she had moved away from English-language news. However, she remained committed to her choice and has continued to build her career in Twi broadcasting.
The Onua TV/FM presenter said the award serves as motivation to continue working hard, improving her craft and contributing meaningfully to journalism and broadcasting.
She also expressed appreciation to everyone who has supported her career journey, describing the recognition as both an honour and a reminder of the responsibility that comes with using her voice to inform and connect with audiences.
