The New Patriotic Party (NPP) congress in Kumasi has created business opportunities in the metropolis as some persons have taken advantage of it to sell party paraphernalia.
A lot of people, mostly women, thronged the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with various paraphernalia including T-shirts of the various contestants, NPP flags, headgear, bangles, hats and other party materials that are attractive to members.
The city of Kumasi is also awash with paraphernalia at various selling points, especially at the party’s regional office and at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with supporters making their choices from a variety of items, which include caps, vuvuzelas, T-shirts and umbrellas.
Yaa Konadu, a trader from Kumasi with various NPP-branded items, said she had made a lot of sales since Tuesday.
She said she makes between GH¢400 and GH¢500 daily and expressed the hope that business would improve today, Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Adwoa Yeboaa, a trader from Obuasi, said even though she had not made enough sales since she arrived in Kumasi on Monday, her expectations were high.
Abubakar Ziblim, who also sells smocks, said the NPP-branded smocks are the most marketable items, which many people are patronising.
