Achieving personal goals takes more than ambition; it requires consistency, discipline and the ability to balance competing priorities, according to career coach and corporate trainer Jeremiah Buabeng.
Speaking on TV3’s The Afternoon Show on Monday, October 19, 2026, Buabeng noted that many people struggle to achieve their goals because their daily habits and lifestyles do not support what they hope to carry out.
“Our lives are at the mercy of our habits,” he said, emphasizing the need for people to develop routines that align with their ambitions.
He explained that goals require sustained effort rather than expecting results overnight, stressing that developing daily habits, including regular exercise, healthy eating, adequate rest and continuous learning, is key to making steady progress towards these goals.
Jeremiah Buabeng also named the management of time, money and energy as essential to achieving personal objectives, warning that poor management of these resources can hinder progress.
He further stressed the importance of balance, noting that people must learn to distinguish between patience and laziness, ambition and contentment, as well as being driven and becoming overambitious.
“If you don’t make yourself the ultimate judge of your own intentions and ambitions, you can get frustrated,” he said, urging people to examine themselves honestly rather than allow others’ expectations to dictate their choices.
He encouraged individuals to build their goals into their everyday lifestyles, stressing that lasting progress comes from small, consistent efforts over time rather than one-time breakthroughs.
