Nigerian artiste Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba has sparked fresh debates with his claim that men are not made to be sexually faithful to a single woman.
Speaking in a recent episode of the 234 Mzansi podcast, hosted by Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu Wazobia, the 49-year-old artist argued that biologically, the genetics of a man makes it impossible for a man to be sexually faithful especially in romantic partnerships.
“I will speak for myself. Man is not built to sexually be with one woman. Your heart, love, respect can be given to one woman but sexually it is impossible for a man.
“A man can love a woman completely but when it comes to that sexual satisfaction, can’t be with only one woman. It’s the biology of a man,” he stated.
2Face Idibia emphasised that the earlier society accepts what he termed as the fact, the better it will be for many people who experience broken hearts due to the inability of their partners to remain faithful.
“It is what has gotten so many people into trouble, its simple fact and we need to accept it. Because so many heartaches, unnecessary stress will be avoided if we understand this simple fact,” he added.
He explained that while some men may choose a different path, the average man is driven by natural instincts.
“Some individuals may choose to live differently, but I’m talking about the natural biology of a man,” he said. “A man has many seeds and can’t just drop them for one woman.”
2Baba’s comments come amid renewed interest in his personal life, particularly his past relationship with actress Annie Idibia. While he did not delve into details, he confirmed that their separation was mutual and rooted in emotional disconnection.
“Annie and I had a good bond. She’s an amazing and wonderful person, but it wasn’t working anymore,” he said. “Annie and I gave it our best. The reason we’re no longer together isn’t something I want to start discussing here. We have our understanding, and she is amazing. It just wasn’t working anymore, that’s the simple truth.”
He advised couples to be honest about their challenges and not stay in unhappy marriages due to societal expectations. “If a marriage is not working, the couple should try to fix it, but if it still doesn’t work, I don’t think anyone should be forced to stay,” he said. “Only the couple inside the marriage truly knows what they are going through.”
“A man is not built to sëxually be with one woman. A man can love one woman but it’s impossible for a man to sëxually be with one woman only. It’s the biology of man” — 2Face.
