The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has accepted his new role as Chairman for the newly constituted team tasked to spearhead anti-corruption in the incoming government.

The composition of the team forms the basis of a campaign promise made by President-elect John Dramani Mahama to take back what people have stolen from the State, dubbed, ‘Operation Recover All Loot’ (ORAL).

In a statement issued by the Spokesperson for the incoming administration’s transition team, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the team, comprises Mr. Ablakwa as Chair with four other members.

Its task, according to the release is “to receive and gather information from members of the public and other sources,on suspected acts of corruption.”

In a post made on his X Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Mr. Ablakwa stated that: “I humbly accept to chair this ORAL Team with a profound sense of duty, integrity and patriotism.”

He expressed gratitude to the President-elect for the confidence reposed in him and the others to carry such a task.
