Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, is confident of retaining her seat after today’s polls.

She says she is not moved by the deeds of her opponents but only focused on her achievements and is confident it would win her the polls.

Speaking with TV3’s Portia Gabor in a live interview on Onua TV, she said her opponent couldn’t even manage a single school his mother bequeathed him, granting him no guarantee of stewarding the constituency.

She was responding to whether she was moved by the work her opponent has done in the constituency making people think that can unseat her.

“I haven’t seen any work that he has done and I don’t focus on what my opponent is doing. I focus on my campaign. I play my own music and dance to my own tune.

“What I know is that even the school his mother left to him is in a deplorable state. So if you cannot manage one small school, how can you manage a constituency? So that’s not even my concern. They will do their campaign, we’ll do ours and as far as I’m concerned,” she indicated.

Madam Owusu-Ekuful in a related development, denied allegations that her camp attempted inducing some voters in the constituency.

She debunked the allegations saying they were orchestrated by the opposition to create disaffection for her. According to her, she was only distributing food to her agents when the NDC supporters at the centre created a scene.

“…and the NDC were insisting that we had stacked the food packs with something and so they created a scene there. And I’ve read online portals that carrying it as if the voters there were hooting at food that we were sending to people in the queue, that is grossly inaccurate,” she stated.

Madam Owusu-Ekuful added that “I’ll be grateful if you can take the trouble to at least ascertain exactly what’s going on.”

She said it is not everyone in the constituency that will vote for her so it is possible her opponents may instigate their supporters to create a scene to put him in bad light.

She urged the media to be circumspect with their reportage to ensure they report what is actually happening on the grounds rather than putting false information on the airwaves.
