At Agona Duakwa, a community in the Agona East district of the Central region, a two-year-old girl’s head was smashed on the ground several times by a mentally derailed man.

The girl who is battling for her life has been rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra for treatment.

Due to the severity of the damage caused to the little girl’s head, her case was transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after earlier referrals from the Agona Duakwa Salvation Army Hospital and the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

Reports indicate the mentally challenged man has been terrorising residents at Agona Duakwa and its environs for some time now.

Abigail Bonko, mother of the victim says she was cooking in the kitchen when the mentally derailed man met her daughter in front of their house.

The mother says the man got hold of her and smashed her head on the ground several times without any provocation.

The aggrieved mother said her daughter risks losing her sight if she doesn’t get money to fund her treatment according to Adom News report.
