The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ahanta West in Western Region, Ing. Ebenezer Aidoo, has initiated moves to bring traditional leadership closer to local government in the municipality.

As part of these moves, the MCE has begun engaging traditional authorities in the municipality to facilitate an atmosphere of peace and tranquility for development.

This week, the MCE paid a courtesy call on Nana Eziaku IV, the Chief of Agona Ahanta and Acting President of the Ahanta Traditional Council.

The visit, as noted by Ing.Ebenezer Kofi Aidoo, was aimed at deepening collaboration between the Municipal Assembly and traditional authorities.

According to him, establishing healthy relationship with the traditional authorities would promote development within the municipality.

Nana Eziaku IV, who received the MCE and his team, warmly welcomed them. Primarily, the discussions between the MCE and the Chief appeared productive.

They focused on key issues affecting the Ahanta West Municipality. Both leaders expressed their commitment to establish fundamental pillars for development to take off in the area.

They would collaborate effectively and efficiently to enhance education development in the Municipality which appears lacking.

The growing challenges of the health sector in the municipality, which also appears disturbing to the leaders in the area, was also captured as part of discussions.

In terms of job creation and economic empowerment, the leaders mutually agreed to use their offices to collaborate effectively with the right stakeholders for improved socio-economic activities in Ahanta West Municipality.

For the MCE, facilitating speedy development of Ahanta, sparing the area with growth, and ultimately sustaining peace and stability, would remain core principles to actualize his mandate as the representative of President John Dramani Mahama.
