The Appointments Committee of Parliament has completed the vetting of the Minister-designate for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.

Akandoh’s vetting was earlier scheduled for Thursday, January 30, 2025, but had to be postponed to Friday, January 31 due to a chaos that disrupted the process.

The Minority caucus on the committee had argued that they couldn’t let the Juaboso Member of Parliament’s vetting take place since they had vetted about five people already.

This resulted in chaos where the Minority broke down tables at the committee room and destroyed microphones that were being used for the exercise.

Meanwhile, the caucus leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, on Friday, disrupted the vetting again when it commenced, saying the Clerk had started the process without their notice.

But the intervention of the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, restored sanity to the room for the screening to resume.

It took Mr. Akandoh 30 minutes for his vetting to complete.
