The Management of Akoma FM, a subsidiary of Media General in Kumasi, has commended the hardworking staff for their dedication and contributions.
The Head of Station, Ransford Nana Osei Asare, in recognising three staff members who won an award in the Floodlight Media Excellence Awards on Saturday, October 11,2025, congratulated them on huge honors brought to the station.
Akoma 87.9 FM Morning Show Host, John Marfo, popularly known as Sir John, won the Morning Show Host of the Year in the Floodlight Media Excellence Awards.
This is the second time the Ghana Akoma Show host is being recognized by the masses as an exceptional master behind the console.
In 2024, John Marfo was adjudged the best Morning show host in the Ashanti category by the Floodlight Media Awards.
Producer of Entertainment 360, on Akoma FM, Spatus Sarkodie won the entertainment producer of the year.
Tony Best of Akoma FM also won the mid-morning show host of the Year.
After taking them round various offices within Akoma FM and also on various shows of the station, the Head of Station, Ransford Nana Osei Asare, recognized their contributions towards the growth of the station.
He said that Akoma 87.9 FM, through its programming “will continue to address the major needs within our catchment area and also hold duty bearers accountable.”
“We shall continue to champion the cause of the vulnerable and continue to serve as a gate keeper in the development agenda of the region,” he said.
He said the victory confirms the station’s position as the industry benchmark for excellence across the media value chain in the Ashanti Region.
