As the much anticipated Akuapem Odwira Festival approaches, the community of Akropong has held a pre-clean-up exercise not only to prepare for the festival which is scheduled to take place from Monday, September 25, to October 2023, but also to demonstrate their commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy community.
Organised by the Akuapem Traditional Council and the Office of Okuapehene under the abled leadership of His Royal Majesty Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III – Okuapehene, the initiative aligns with the broader efforts to promote environmental stewardship and reduce the impact of waste in the community.
Zoomlion Ghana Ltd, Local schools, Community Groups and volunteers who had earlier pledged their support for this noble cause were all present and involved.
This year’s Akuapem Odwira Festival themed “Eco-tourism to foster sustainable development” promises to be the most impactful with thousands of attendees expected to be part of both the traditional and social activities designed to leave lasting memories.
On Friday, September 29, 2023, the Okuapehene will host his first Akuapem Odwira grand durbar which he will use to further reiterate the need to embody the values of togetherness, gratitude, and environmental responsibility that lie at the heart of the Akuapem Odwira Festival.
