Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have parted ways with their Head Coach, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum.

The decision comes in the wake of two successive defeats in the League. The Porcupine Warriors first lost 3-0 to struggling Accra Lions to drop from the summit of the league to third and then were beaten 2-0 by regional rivals Nations FC.

They are currently fourth with 47 points from 28 games.

According to a statement issued on Easter Monday, there were “constructive discussions” between the club and the departing coach before the decision was reached.

It said the decision had the shared understanding that it is in the interest of the club “at this time”.

“We thank Coach Ogum for his dedication and service to the club, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” the statement said.

It urged fans of the club  to remain calm and continue to support the team in the period of transition.

Kotoko’s next encounter will be at home to Aduana FC before the Super Clash against Hearts of Oak.
