The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has departed Ghana for a two-week working visit to the United States ahead of the grand celebration of Akwasidae Kɛse.
Otumfuo left the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
He was seen off by a delegation of chiefs and state officials, including Nsuase Poku III, Akyeamehene; Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, Asante Mamponghene; Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, Bantamahene; Kyeame Jachie Amoateng; Dr Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister; and Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi.
Members of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and other dignitaries were also present to extend well wishes for a successful visit.
