The outgoing Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso Boakye has expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to serve the country.
He also thanked the people of Ghana for supporting him during his term as a minister.
This is contained in a message issued to mark the end of his tenure on January 7.
“As I conclude 8 fulfilling years of service as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Minister for Works and Housing, and Minister for Roads and Highways under President Akufo-Addo, I reflect with deep gratitude,” he wrote.
He added that “I thank God for His guidance, and I’m truly honored by the opportunity to serve our great nation under the President Akufo -Addo. A heartfelt appreciation to my family, friends, and colleagues for their unwavering support throughout this journey.”
In 2023 Mr Asenso-Boakye received an award as Ghana’s Best Minister for Infrastructure Development.
The outgoing Minister, who is also the NPP Member of Parliament for Bantama in the Ashanti Region, received the award at the Chamber of Construction 2023 Awards for Industry Players in Accra.
He expressed his appreciation to all those who supported him during his tenure as a minister and also Deputy Chief of Staff.
He was grateful to the people of Bantama for renewing his mandate as their MP and promised to address challenges facing them.
“As I turn the page to a new chapter, I pray for continued strength and success, as I remain committed to serving my community, Bantama as their Member of Parliament,” Mr Asenso-Boakye assured.
During his tenure as the Roads and Highways Minister, the country benefited from a lot of road projects. He stated that the record of the erstwhile NPP administration in road infrastructure development is unparalleled.
