General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has chosen John Dramani Mahama amongst the three persons eyeing the flagbearer of the party as his choice for the 2024 general elections.
General Mosquito, as he is known in the political space is aspiring to be Chairman of the NDC, contesting incumbent Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
But ahead of the national executives election and that of the flagbearership, General Mosquito has said he will partner John Mahama to secure victory for the NDC in 2024.
In a release issued by his campaign team announcing his tour of the Central Region, Spokesperson of the campaign, Edem Agbana says Asiedu Nketia is preparing a good campaign with John Mahama, who hasn’t been elected yet as the party’s flagbearer to hand them victory in 2024.
“The NDC General Secretary who is affectionately called ‘General Mosquito’ is promising a fearless, united, and dynamic leadership of the party as it prepares for its campaign with John Mahama for victory in the 2024 general elections,” the statement read.
The three-day tour of the campaign will begin from the Upper Denkyira East, to be followed by Twifo Atimokwaa before other places.

General Johnson Asiedu Nketiah begins tour of the Central Region.
The Johnson Asiedu Nketiah Campaign begins a tour of constituencies in the Central Region today, Sunday, November 20, 2022.
The three-day tour will involve direct interaction with executives and delegates in each constituency, visit some elders and touch base with foot soldiers of the party.
Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, who is the General Secretary of the NDC, is campaigning to be elected National Chairman at the party’s delegates conference in December.
According to the itinerary, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah will start his tour from the Upper Denkyira East constituency, continue to Twifo Atimokwaa before heading to other constituencies over the three days.

General Asiedu Nketia has already toured other regions including Western, Upper East, Upper West and North East.
