The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has vehemently denied allegations suggesting he has authorized payment to former Assin Central lawmaker, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, for a government contract.
The Minister has clarified that his outfit, since assuming office, has never made any payments to any contractor.
He has explained that the Ministry is currently reviewing all payment requests related to government contracts undertaken under the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration.
In a post made on his X Sunday, February 23, 2025, he explained that until the legitimacy of any payment request has been established, there would not be any payments to that effect.
“Since I took office, no contractor—including Kennedy Agyapong—has been paid a pesewa. We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy,” he said in his post.
The Ajumako Enyan Essiam legislator further urged the public to disregard any reports suggesting he has approved any such payments.
“Please disregard any claims suggesting that I have authorized payment to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor,” he concluded.
