Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has called for the support of the Members of Parliament to support the passage of the estimates of the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.
He wants his colleagues’ support to aid the government’s implementation of key economic policies in the budget to enhance growth.
The Minister, speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Post-Budget Workshop in Parliament Saturday, March 15, 2025, he called for the House’s support to ensure the programmes of the government are implemented.
“We have outlined a number of revenue and expenditure measures in the 2025 budget to support the achievement of our fiscal objectives and targets. And we would like to call on this esteemed House, particularly my colleagues, the Members of Parliament, to support these measures and the passage of the various legislations that will operationalise the measures as soon as possible,” he stated.
He explained that the budget will help the growth of the economy through the several transformational measures which includes the government’s Big Push initiative, the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board, and Agriculture for Economic Transformation.
The Ajumako Enyan Essiam lawmaker further highlighted some of the initiatives designed by the government to drive the economy.
“Some initiatives that we have proposed for implementation in this budget are as follows: we are proposing to roll out the 24-hour economy policy to support inclusive growth and job creation. We also propose to roll out the GH¢10 billion Big Push policy beginning this year.
“We are proposing the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board to support foreign exchange inflows and gold reserve accumulation to benefit our dear country,” he stated.
