The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East in the Greater Accra region, Naser Toure Mahama, has died.
The lawmaker, aged 60, was a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) side of the House, and a native of Kue in the Nkwanta South District of the Oti region.
He reportedly died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a period of illness.
It was his fourth term in Parliament, having entered the House in 2013 representing the people of Ayawaso East.
Akyem Swedru MP, Kennedy Nyarko Osei, revealed in a Facebook post on Sunday, January 4, 2026, that Naser Toure Mahama’s passing was unexpected. He shared that Mahama had sent a New Year message to their Roads and Highways Committee group just three days ago.
