It was mayhem in the early hours of Sunday as irate youths at Barekese in the Ashanti Region attacked the chief’s palace.
Nana Amoapem Brenya II whom the youths accused of not doing enough to push for the community’s development, needed a heavy police shield to evacuate his besieged palace.
The police also could not escape the pelting of stones as tension escalates.
The chief had to be whisked away in a police pick up.
The chief according to the youth has been selling off the lands in the enclave without using the money to develop Barekese.
They had asked the police to release him to them to deal Roth him.
But the security officers provided him the maximum security to rescue.him from the grip of the angry youth.
