Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has congratulated the management, technical team, playing body and fans of Hasaacas Ladies for winning the 2023/24 Ghana Women’s Premier League.

Hasaacas Ladies beat Ampem Darkoa Ladies 2-1 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium to win the championship play-off, becoming the League champions.

They had brushed aside Faith Ladies in the final game of the Southern Zone to face the defending champions.

By the win, Hasaacas Ladies will return to WAFU Zone B for the qualifiers to the CAF Women’s Champions League.

In a letter dated Tuesday, June 18, Vice President Bawumia noted that he has recognised the “stellar performance” of the Westerners in the Women’s Premier League.

“Congratulations to the management, technical team, playing body and fans on your impressive achievement of winning your 5th league title and qualifying to represent Ghana at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, WAFU Zone.

“It is my prayer that you repeat your outstanding feat of 2021, by winning the CAF WAFU Zone trophy and marching on to the main tournament.”

He concluded: “I look forward to hosting you once again, as you prepare for the upcoming tournament.”
