The Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 election, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has hailed members of his 2024 manifesto committee.
Despite losing the elections, the Vice President has asked members of the committee not to be dismayed, assuring that the “comprehensive” document they drafted would be beneficial in the future.
He is hopeful of the NPP winning a future election with the document for Ghanaians to benefit from the good policies outlined in the draft.
At a meeting held at his residence in Accra Monday, December 23, 2024, attended by Chairpersons and Vice of the various committees, as well as members on the committees, Dr. Bawumia commended them for putting together such a masterpiece.
He appreciated the work and called for a comprehensive post mortem of why such a huge number of party members refused to vote, assuring that a comprehensive research would be conducted by the party, as part of the reorganisation process for the way forward.
“I want to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of you for your dedication and hard work towards putting together such a comprehensive document, which we presented to Ghanaians,” Dr. Bawumia said, adding that the manifesto will be beneficial in the future.
“God willing, we will all benefit from this document in the future,” he assured.
Commenting further on the shocking outcome of the election, Dr. Bawumia said in spite of various people working to present such comprehensive policy to Ghanaians, the party’s fortunes, he noted, was affected by voter apathy among over 2 million of its core voters across the country.
“It was as if our people held a meeting across the country and decided they won’t go out to vote,” Dr. Bawumia said.
Also present at the meeting was Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who chaired the Manifesto Committee of the 2024 Bawumia Campaign.
