Flagbearer of the NPP Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has called on the people of Sankore in the Asunafo South Constituency not to vote ‘skirt and blouse’ in this year’s elections.

He said doing so will not help his government.

“Don’t vote skirt and blouse. Let’s vote straight,” he urged.

‘Skirt and blouse’ is a term used for a situation whereby constituents vote for parliamentary candidate of a particular party and presidential candidate of another party.

Addressing stakeholders including chiefs, clergy, Islamic clerics, the flagbearer assured the people of appointment into his government when he wins.

“As for me Sankore here, I want to promise you that if you vote for me to come, I will appoint somebody from Sankore into my government. So vote for us, all of us are on number one, vote for the member of parliament Adusei Opoku and vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” he appealed.

The flagbearer again assured the people of Sankore of supporting farmers to spearhead growth of agriculture in the country.

“Agriculture is going to be my number one priority, in Ghana here our main occupation is agriculture, over sixty percent of Ghanaians are farmers. So, I want to use our resources, knowledge, and digitalization to spearhead growth of agriculture,” Dr Bawumia assured.
