Head of the Kwahu Afram Plains South District Security Council Evans kyei Ntiri, has vowed to ensure perpetrators of the suspected beheading in the area are arrested.

He gave the assurance after a closed door DISEC meeting with stakeholders including leadership of the Fulani community who predominantly engage in cattle tendering for livelihood.

“As the head of DISEC, I pledged to ensure that the culprits are brought to book and justice is served. Today it is them, tomorrow it could be anyone. We would not rest until peace is restored.”

Over the weekend two persons were discovered in the bush, their deaths suspected to be as a result of beheading.

Renewed tensions have heightened as the herdsmen of Fulani descent petition DISEC to demand justice.

“We demand justice for our indigenes, from May 2023 to May 2024 almost 20 of our own have been killed. No justice served, just because we bury them without asking questions. The heads of our indigenes must be returned to us before we bury them. Justice delayed is justice denied,” the National Fulani Youth President said.

Head of the Kwahu Afram Plains South District Security Council Evans Kyei Ntiri assured culprit would be apprehended and urged the youth remain calm.

“I plead with the Youth to remain calm as we find lasting solutions. I want to use this opportunity to solicit for more information to the Police Service who are still investigating the matter. We urgently need information,” he said.

Efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture to encourage cattle owners to utilize fodder banks have not produced desired results.

Breach of the District Assembly bylaws and retaliatory attacks continue to worsen the situation, leaving the true owners of the cattle largely unaccountable.

Meanwhile the Ghana Police Service in a press release says it has deployed specialised personnel to the Maame Krobo area to beef up Security and investigate the matter.
