New Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani Goldstars SC will be handed their trophy on Saturday, June 14 in a coronation match against Medeama SC.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00pm at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani.

It will come almost a week after the Western North Region club won its maiden league title.

The Miners thrashed relegated Accra Lions 4-0 to annex the title and take over the bragging rights from FC Samartex.

However, on Sunday, June 8, when the trophy should have been available for presentation, there was no trace of it.

This drew criticism from the Chief Executive Officer of the club, Kwesi Adu.

Goldstars CEO laments absence of GPL trophy on final day; looks forward to coronation

Authorities may have heard this lament and scheduled the coronation match for Saturday.

They face a side that won the trophy two years prior.

Bibiani Goldstars will be the fifth different club to have won the top-flight league in the past five years.
