The Member of Parliament (MP) for Binduri, Issifu Mahmoud, has commended the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for arresting and confiscating weapons and ammunition in the Binduri district of the Upper East region.
The MP in a statement called for calm and urged residents to remain calm and support the security services in their efforts to restore lasting peace to the community.
In a statement issued by the lawmaker Monday, June 16, 2025, he said “This bold action reflects their strong commitment to peace and public safety.”
The MP further urged the police to ensure the matter is investigated and the suspects made to face the law.

COMMENDATION OF THE MILITARY FOR CONFISCATION OF WEAPONS IN BINDURI
I wish to commend the Ghana Armed Forces for their swift operation this afternoon in the Binduri Constituency, leading to the confiscation of sophisticated weapons, ammunition and the arrest of suspects linked to the recent insecurity in the area.
This bold action reflects their strong commitment to peace and public safety. I urge the Ghana Police Service to act promptly by ensuring a thorough investigation and prosecution of those involved to deter future incidents.
I encourage all residents of Binduri to remain calm and support the security services in their efforts to restore lasting peace to our community
