Church services at the Potter’s House of Dallas in US were suddenly halted on Sunday November 24, 2024 when head pastor, Bishop T.D. Jakes suffered a health incident mid-sermon.
Per report from Fox News, the incident occurred soon after the motivational speaker and preacher had quoted Psalm 19:14 while preaching to his audience.
Bishop Jakes suddenly went silent and appeared to shiver while sitting in his chair and staring into the distance.
He was quickly attended to and rushed for medical care. A speaker then asked the audience to pray for him while he was being treated.
Prior to the incident, the pastor spoke about his love and happiness in sharing God’s word.
“I still love to preach. I ain’t tired of preaching,” Jakes, 67, said to the audience. “I miss you.”
“Have you ever gone to a hospital to visit somebody, and you thought it was going to encourage them, and they encourage you?” That’s what preaching is like,” he continued. “You think you’re giving out something, you’re getting back more than you gave.”

However, Bishop Jakes’ X account posted an update about the medical emergency later on Sunday.
The statement said Jakes is currently “stable and under the care of medical professionals.”
