Ghana’s amputee football team, the Black Challenge, continued its perfect start to the 2024 African Amputee Cup of Nations (AAFCON) after a 5-0 thrashing of Algeria in the second game.

The team had managed to beat The Gambia 4-0 barely 24 hours after touching down in Cairo for the tournament.

Eventual Man of the Match Mubarak Mohammed scored two goals in that first Group C game on Sunday, May 19.

On Monday, the team continued a defence of the title they won in Tanzania in 2021 with that 5-0 win over Algeria.

Mohammed got a brace again, earning him the Man of the Match award again.

Yussif Yahaya, Hamza Mohammed and Timothy Hayford were the other goalscorers.

Ghana’s final group game will be on Tuesday against Kenya, who lost their opening game by a lone goal to Algeria.

The team has already targeted scoring six against the East Africans.
