The senior national women’s team, the Black Queens, have taken a commanding 3-1 lead going into the final Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia.
Through Doris Boaduwaa and Portia Boakye, Nora Hauptle’s side went into the break in the first leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium with a 2-0 advantage.
A second half strike by Ghana’s Number 9, Boaduwaa, put the team 3-0 up.
However, captain Portia Boakye turned one into her own net after goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan failed to clear her back pass.
It ended 3-1.
The second leg, which will be the final qualifier for the two sides, will take place on Tuesday, December 5.
The Black Queens need at least a draw to make a return to the nations’ cup in Morocco in 2024.
