Hosts of Yen Nsempa on Onua FM, Nana Yaa Brefo and JB, have paid a heartfelt visit to Great James Academy, an orphanage situated at Chorkor, a suburb of Accra.

The visit was aimed at soliciting for donations for the orphans in alignment with Onua Group’s Boafo Yɛ Na outreach programme.

The academy serves as a beacon of hope for orphans and underprivileged children, offering them education and shelter despite being an uncompleted facility.

The donations, which can be made in cash or in kind, will contribute to the well-being and educational needs of the students.

James Lamptey, the founder of the Academy, shared his personal connection to the cause, citing his own experience as an orphan as the driving force behind his dedication to supporting these children.

Having once been in their shoes, Lamptey understands the importance of having a support system and is committed to providing that for the orphans under his care.

Starting his journey as a pupil’s teacher, Lamptey’s determination led him to establish Great James Academy, where he continues to nurture and uplift the lives of these children.

Despite facing challenges, his perseverance since 2019 has garnered appreciation and gratitude from the orphans, who acknowledge his unwavering support and care.

Expressing their gratitude, the orphans emphasised the significance of community support in sustaining their livelihood and educational aspirations.

They therefore are urging Ghanaians to join hands in contributing towards their welfare, whether through monetary donations or essential supplies such as food items and building materials to aid in completing the school infrastructure.

To support the Boafo Yɛ Na initiative and Great James Academy, people are encouraged to send their monetary donations to 0598870445. All non-monetary donations can be brought to the premises of Media General located at Kanda, on the Presidential drive. The donations shall come to a climax on March 30, 2024, where all donated items shall be given to the orphans at Mmofra Place, Dzowulu.
